Oklahoma Rehab Services, Inc. GSA Schedule – Terms & Conditions

  1. ABOUT OKLAHOMA REHAB SERVICES, INC.

Oklahoma Rehab Services, Inc. (ORS) headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma provides comprehensive pulmonary/ respiratory rehabilitation services, including but not limited to, patient education about their disease, breathing retraining procedures. Therapeutic procedures to increase strength or endurance of respiratory muscles and to improve respiratory functions, assessing home environment to meet patients' unique needs, and psychosocial counseling with respect to handling issues related to disease management for the patient. Typical patients will be seen for approximately 2 hours per visit, (2-3) days per week, as deemed medically necessary.

Patient arrives vital signs are taken (oxygen saturation, blood pressure, pulse rate, respiration rate). Patient is assessed as to respiratory status being stable to begin therapy session. The patient is questioned regarding any new physical, personal or family situations that need to be discussed or addressed. This includes counseling for self- improvement in areas such as personal care, health and wellness training, smoking cessation, transportation issues, and areas of difficulty in activities of daily living, depression/anxiety and stress management.

Patient then begins the exercise portion of their session. They are placed on a treadmill, arm bike or recumbent bike for a duration determined by their endurance level. Vital signs are again monitored after each station.

Upon completion of the above activities a daily education topic is discussed before moving to breathing retraining therapy which includes techniques such as pursed lip breathing and airway clearance, inspiratory/expiratory muscle training and strength training.

The therapy session then becomes a group session of psychosocial therapy that includes group activities such as beach-ball contests, volleyball contests and other group activities.

This is normally a 2 hour session done 2-3 times per week for approximately 12-15 weeks or until such time as the patient is capable of performing the health and wellness training they have received at home.
