VERY SPECIAL ARTS DUBUQUE GRANT SUPPORTS ART EXPERIENCE OUTING
(Dubuque, IA – February 3, 2012) A recent grant award in the amount of $3,000 from Very Special Arts Dubuque will help fund Art Experience Outings for children and young adults supported by Hills & Dales. This support will assist residents and clients to visit various art focused tourist destinations throughout the area like Chicago, Des Moines, and Milwaukee. Various activities may occur, but the focus will be on art appreciation opportunities – musicals, concerts, theatre performances, museum visits, etc.
For the past few summers, Hills & Dales staff members have worked diligently to plan these often overnight trips. Substantial planning and costs, such as transportation, staffing, medical needs, accessible hotels and venues, etc., are necessary for making these trips a reality.
Past VSA grant funding has broadened the overall knowledge and appreciation of music and the arts for many supported by Hills & Dales, and has helped the organization now identify a core group of individuals who are excited to now experience the next level up in arts and musical entertainment.
Hills & Dales is appreciative of the support the Very Special Arts Dubuque provided to assist in the mission to build meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities by offering services that support the whole person and enhance community inclusion.
