Ministry Track Leader Information Sheet
Thank you for showing an interest in being a part of WIRED Ministries. We realize that there are numerous ministry events throughout the summer with which you could serve. What we are offering through WIRED is the unique opportunity to serve the people within our own community and help disciple students from local churches in Bible study and servant leadership.
So how will our Ministry Track Leaders help us accomplish that goal? Every Ministry Track Leader will have two very important roles to play to make sure WIRED is a success. The first role is that of a Bible Study Leader for the ministry track group you will be assigned to lead during the entire week of WIRED. During the week, you will lead your ministry track group, which will have between 10-20 people, in a Bible study that will be entirely focused on how all of us within the body of Christ are all wired together in service and love.
The other major role that you would be responsible for is being the Ministry Site Leader for your group everyday. On your application you will see that there are several different ministry tracks for Wired, which include Social Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Sports Camps, Evangelism, Hispanic and Construction. You will have the opportunity to give your preference on which of these tracks you would like to lead during your participation in WIRED by sharing with us a short statement of your faith and why you want to lead that ministry track this year. Every ministry track team will be on site from 9 AM – 3 PM everyday, and it will be your responsibility to motivate, inspire and lead these students in whichever ministry track you will be apart of.
Training Requirements
WIRED requires one weekend of extensive training for all of our Ministry Track Leaders. Our training dates for WIRED 2017 are Thursday, May 18th – Saturday, May 20th. Our first night will be an orientation for new leaders from 6:00 P.M. – 9:00P.M. Everyone will train all day on Friday and Saturday from 9 A.M. – 9 P.M.
We will use this time to make sure every leader has been appropriately trained in the Bible study for the week, student management and disciplinary procedures, as well as site preparation for the next week of ministry events. Each staff member will receive a copy of the WIRED 2017 Bible study by the end of April. It will be expected of each staff member to read this study, make notes regarding the study and to prepare a teaching outline before getting to this week of training.
We will also focus our attention on site preparation at all ministry track sites throughout the Wiregrass. Depending on which ministry track you are assigned to, you may be preparing one site or up to five different sites for following week. A lot of the work in preparation will be done prior to this week of training but it most definitely will be a packed couple of days.
We will also have a check in on June 10th then again the day before camp on June 24th from 4P- 9P.
CONPENSATION PACKAGE FOR STAFF MEMBERS
It is our sincere hope that your decision to participate in this years WIRED mission event will not be determined by this part of the information sheet, but we do realize that it is important for all how are interested in participating understand that we are not asking you to serve the Lord with only a hand shake and thank you. Serving the Lord is not about the money we make but scripture does tell us that we should not let those doing His work go without being taking care of. All Ministry Track Leaders will receive $500 for participation in WIRED. This should help compensate each leader for the Bible Study preparation, the weekend of training, and the actual mission event itself.
All meals will be provided for the Ministry Track Leaders. The housing arrangements for Ministry Track Leaders have not been confirmed, but we always have a few options for out of town leaders.
