Job Summary: National Citizen Service is a personal and social development programme for young people aged 16-17. The NCS Trust has awarded vInspired Education and NYA Education a multi-million pound contract to deliver NCS across the North East of England and maintain quality whilst achieving significant growth throughout the contract period, from autumn 2015 – summer 2018.

The Recruitment Advisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of this contract as a member of the Regional Recruitment and conversion team. This role involves delivery of recruitment events and also the follow up contact with young people to sign them up to the programme. You will be selling the benefits of NCS to young people and their key influencers (parents, teachers and youth workers) and ensure that our target audiences fully understand the benefits to taking part in NCS. This is part of our three year regional recruitment strategy, engaging with schools and colleges to sign up over 20,000 eligible young people across the contract period. The post holder will need energy, enthusiasm, flexibility and a creative approach to secure expressions of interest and applications from young people and be able to complete their full sign up.

Dimensions: You will be accountable to the Recruitment Team Leader and will be a member of the regional team which includes: Recruitment and Conversion Coordinators, Partnership Managers, Marketing and Digital team, delivery partners, schools, colleges and other organisations. You will work alongside the Conversion Team Leader to ensure young people, their parents and education providers across the North East fully understand the benefits of NCS and sign up to this life changing programme. The post holder will work in close collaboration with key partners to build on previous NCS experience, contacts and best practice.

Specific Duties:

·  Deliver recruitment events, including presentations to large school audiences and community groups.

·  Work with the Recruitment Manager and Conversion Manager to prioritise activity to maximise opportunities to reach a diverse range of young people via different engagement routes

·  Sustain good relationships and regular contact with schools

·  Obtains client information (from young people and parents) by making and answering telephone calls, interviewing clients and verifying information.

·  Establish a good rapport with clients quickly

·  Ensure the information regarding the programme given to customers is accurate and inspiring

·  Ensure data entered into the CRM is accurate and reliable

·  Maintain and improve quality results by adhering to standards and guidelines

·  Recommend improved procedures based on experience

·  Update job knowledge by attending training sessions and reading through information given by the Conversion Team Leader

·  Assist the conversion team with designing and developing new ideas for campaigns and proactively seeking opportunities to put them into motion

·  Use set KPIs as a tool for success

·  Work as a member of a wider team on a shift basis, towards successful completion of the conversion plan

·  Sustain positive relationships with subcontractors and support them in non-school recruitment opportunities and events

·  Actively take up opportunities for development in order to improve recruitment practice, including visiting programme delivery phases within region

·  Contribute pro-actively and flexibly as part of the regional team to ensure high quality effective recruitment practice, maintaining an understanding of how performance against target can impact payment by results for the contract.

·  Provide accurate updates to the CRM system to provide visibility of progress to delivery partners and up to date MI for reporting purposes

·  Support the cross-promotion of both vInspired and NYA programmes within schools and North East region

·  Contribute as required to the wider work of the team

·  Undertake any other duties as required and commensurate with the level of this post

·  Act in a manner that is in keeping with the organisation’s values

The post holder will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Office base

Based in the North East Region in either the Teesside or the Newcastle Office (Office location is subject to change at any time).

A flexible approach to work including willingness to take on tasks outside the normal remit, to work irregular hours and be prepared to undertake significant travel. Some overnight stays are possible. Weekend and evening work may be required. Must have clean driving licence and access to own vehicle

Outline of vInspired Terms and Conditions:

Salary: circa £20,000 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed term contract to June 2018

Hours: 37 hours per week

Holiday: 28 days’ a year plus public holidays

Pension: vInspired operates a Stakeholder Pension Scheme, into which it pays a contribution equivalent to 3% of basic salary
