NAIFA- South Carolina Bill Hendley Award of Excellence Application

The award is based on the critical components identified as crucial to strengthening the NAIFA Federation and increasing membership. This award has been name in honor of the late Bill Hendley, the only South Carolina member to have served as NAIFA National President. Appropriately, this award recognizes associations and their leaders who excel in all facets of association management including Advocacy, Governance, Programs & Professional Development, and Membership.

The purpose of the Bill Hendley Award of Excellence is to: 1) ensure the award is a guidepost for progress toward improving local associations in all mission critical areas; 2) give special recognition to those locals who exceed those standards to a high degree.

WINNING CRITERIA:

The Association attainingthe highest number of pointswillearn the NAIFA-SC Bill Hendley Award of Excellence. (Minimum of 85 points required of possible 195 points and a 4 point bonus.) Up to 2 additional Local Associations,meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements, will receive the NAIFA-SC Platinum or Gold Citation of Excellence.

Citation of Excellence required levels:

• Platinum (Well Exceeds Expectations — 95 + points) A local association cannot achieve this level without reaching 100% of their national membership goal set by the National Membership Committee.

• Gold (Exceeds Expectations — 85 to 94 points) A local association cannot achieve this level without achieving 95% to 99.99 % of their national membership goal set by the National Membership Committee.

INSTRUCTIONS:

We recommend you use a form of mail that can be tracked, such as return receipt requested, certified mail, or overnight mailservice such as UPS or FedEx.

• All IFAPAC contribution information is for the 2009 calendar year, therefore all IFAPAC activities (including contributions counting toward participation and dollar amount goals) must have been received at NAIFA by December 31, 2009.

2. Supporting material is required for most questions in order for points to be awarded. If supporting material is not provided as requested in a question, points will not be given. All materials should include the association name & number.

• Some questions will require you to give a brief narrative explanation. Please type these answers with the corresponding section and question number (Ex. D1.)

• For questions that can be answered by pre-printed materials, please label the materials with the section and question number and ensure that the association name and number are clearly marked. (Ex. A2.)

3. All answers will be subject to verification by NAIFA-SC.

4. NAIFA-SC encourages all supporting materials to be submitted in an electronic format, on a CD, with the files named as the corresponding section and question number (Ex. D1.pdf or D1.doc)
