Paid Part Time Assistant Coach and Graduate Assistant Coach
Hiring Procedure/Checklist
* 1. Head Coach completes a “Request to Hire” form and obtains Athletic Director and EVP of Student and Enrollment Services’ signature. Signed form is given to HR.
* 2. Candidates complete a CUI employment application (including a resume) and a background check authorization form and email or fax the completed application to . Forms can be obtained from HR.
* 3. Athletic Director and Head Coach receive copy of completed employment applications and resumes from HR.
* 4. Athletic Department Coordinator or Head Coach schedules candidates to interview with the Athletic Director and Head Coach
* 5. HR schedules a ½ hour meeting with HR Director and candidates.
* 6. Athletic Director informs HR of their hiring decision.
* 7. HR runs the background check and informs Athletic Director and Head Coach of clearance to hire.
* 8. Candidate completes the Champions of Character coaching course prior to receiving a contract.
* 9. Athletic Director informs HR of new employee’s start date and emails the prepared contract to HR.
* 10. HR emails the new employee the necessary employment paperwork to be completed (W4, I-9, Emergency Contact Form, etc.).
* 11. New employee reports to HR office first thing on his/her first day of work to complete the necessary employment paperwork. New employee should bring 2 forms of identification (Driver’s License, Passport and/or Social Security Card) for their I-9 form on their first day.
