Who’s the king of the jungle?
I would like each child to present to the rest of the class, who/what they think is the ‘King of the jungle’ and WHY. This task involves them deciding what they mean by ‘king’ e.g. they might choose to do research about an animal which they think is the strongest
one in the jungle.
OR
They might choose a plant which they think is remarkable in some way because of how it survives.
OR
They might choose the plant or animal which they most admire.
It would be good if they present their ideas using
a combination of words and pictures: they may use their PowerPoint skills, make a poster, or just
speak and show us a picture. The presentation
must include them explaining in what sense
their choice is the ‘King’ and should last about 1
or 2 minutes. / Reading paper
2011 Caves and caving...
This is an older paper from when the rules were different. Use the paper as it would be
administered now i.e. The child has one hour to
read and complete all of the questions. They
may start answering questions as soon as they
choose to – they do not have to read the whole
booklet 1st . In a test situation the children
would have 1 hourto complete this kind of paper,
butthere is no need for the children to do this
homework task in a set time: it is fine if they take
as long as they need and if they receive help from
someone athome. Please encourage them to
write as much as they can but they do not have to answer in whole sentences - unless it specifically
asks for them to do so.
