Where can I get help at Christmas?
Over the Christmas and New Year period, a lot of support services for young people are closed, or have altered their opening and closing times. Use this as a guide to find where you can still get help if you find yourself in need of support over the holidays.
Health Services

GP practice. The centre is open every day from 8am to 8pm, including all Bank Holidays, and offers a range of services, including health information, advice and treatment for a range of minor illnesses and injuries.
- A walk in service (for non-registered patients)
- A free, confidential sexual health clinic
- Family planning services
When is it open?
Open 8am till 8pm everyday including Christmas Day.
When is it closed?
This service will not be closed throughout the Christmas and New Year period.

This is a confidential and friendly sexual health service for young people. We welcome seeing young people on their own or with friends or family.
- Full sexual health screens for young men and women or self-taken swabs/ urine tests for chlamydia and gonorrhoea
- Blood tests for HIV, hepatitis and syphilis
-Free treatment for any infection found
- Hepatitis vaccination A and B for people at risk
- Pregnancy testing
- Contraception including contraceptive pills, Depo–Provera injection and emergency contraception
-Free condoms
- Referral to other services as appropriate

Serves hot soup and bread, tea and any other food that has been donated, to anyone who needs it, seven days a week.
When is it open?
Throughout the Christmas & New Year period, seven days a week, 7pm – 7.30pm in the first shelter past the peace statue.
When is it closed?
The soup run is not closing during the Christmas period.
