  • The Board Finance Sub Committee met before the Board meeting.
  • The Board expressed its sympathy to Mary Frances Behan on the death of her mother Maureen Horan
  • The Board reviewed the financial position of the School. The Board will approve the Budget for 2018-2019 at the March 2018 meeting
  • The Board has decided not to have the Bingo fundraising event this year as the school is already fundraising for the publication of the book to celebrate the 75 years of the school.
  • The Department of Education has issued a new circular on Leadership and Management in Post Primary Schools. The Board sanctioned the setting up of a Working Group to review the leadership and management needs and priorities of the school going forward. The Working Group will report to the Board.
  • The Board acknowledged the excellent profile given to the school in the recent Sunday Independent survey on progression to 3rd level.
  • The Board received the PE inspection report. School Management will address the recommendation to provide double PE classes in Senior Cycle.
  • The Board approved the Policy on Special Educational Needs and the Homework Policy
  • The Board discussed the Child Safeguarding Statement.
  • The Board completed the Child Protection Oversight Report
  • The Board is delighted that all staff and students will receive training in CPR on Friday 23rd February with Majella Forde, Kuleana Training and Consulting.
  • The Principal informed the Board about the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May.
  • The Board congratulated the students who participated in the Munster Badminton Finals on 25th January.
  • The Principal updated the Board on Teaching and Learning matters
  • The Principal updated the Board on the work of the Pres 75 Committee
  • The Board discussed the review of the curriculum 2018-2019
  • The Board thanked Bishop Ray Browne for visiting the school on Tuesday 30th January to celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2018
  • The Board were given an update on the New Building Project.
  • The Principal updated the Board on all School activities since the last meeting.
  • Reports from the LCA and TY Coordinators were presented to the Board.
  • The Board will approve the Strategic Plan for the school 2017-2022 at the next Board meeting in March
  • The next meeting will be held on Monday 12th March 2018
