Children’s Camp
Dear Parent,
We are so pleased that your child is planning to attend camp this year. Our staff is dedicated to making this an exciting and rewarding experience for every camper. Our aim is to present a Christian message in a recreational camp setting where campers can learn about the Bible and practice daily living in a Christ-like way.
The camp begins on July 24, 2017, at Glad Tidings Bible Camp, near Crofton, NE. Registration will begin at 3:00 p.m. Campers will be returning home on July 28st. Each church/parent that sends a child to camp apart from a group must have a representative there at 8:00 a.m. to help with camp clean-up. (If the child is with a group this is the responsibility of the group leaders!) The camp will be dismissed Friday July 28stat approximately 9:45 a.m. If you are having someone else pick up your child you must contact the camp director and your church sponsor as to who it will be. Please be aware that they must have your permission in writing before leaving camp. We do this to insure the safety and well-being of your children.
Attached with this letter you will find a copy of the medical history and permission form. Please fill out the form as completely as possible so we can take care of your child adequately. If there is any condition you prefer not to write down, feel free to call the camp director at any time before camp. If your child takes prescription medicine, it must be turned in to the camp nurse with instructions for administering it. We MUST have the completed form for each camper before allowing him or her to participate in camp.
In packing for your camper, be sure to include enough clean clothes, underwear, socks, and so forth for the entire week. You may want to add extras in case of accidents. Your child will need to bring linens, pillow, and blanket or sleeping bag, towels and washcloths. You may want to pack some clothes that it is ok for then to get stained.
Your child will not need to bring money because snacks will be provided at a special time each night. Do include Bible, toothbrush, comb, towels, and washcloth. Campers should not bringI-pods, I-pads,electronic games, computers, knives, or fireworks. If your child brings a cell phone they must be turned into their sponsor. They will be allowed to use cell phone in case of emergency and during designated time in the evening.
The children will be encouraged to have a morning quiet time each day during which they read their Bible, use a devotional guide, and pray. We strongly encourage them to continue this when they return home. We invite you to call your pastor or Sunday School teacher to get suggestions for helping your child establish such a habit.
We are looking forward to a great camp this year. Thank you for sharing your child with us.
