Study Abroad and Undergraduate Scholarship Regulations 2017/18

Newcastle University offers a number of partial study abroad scholarship awards to assist international students with good qualifications to study at Newcastle University. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and are meant to be used towards living costs.

  1. Scholarships are offered to students undertaking any of the University’s four Study Abroad strands including Pre-Medical, Arts and Social, Agriculture and Engineering and Business and Finance and to undergraduateapplicants from Canada and Malaysia.
  2. Applicants must be registered students at Newcastle University during the 2017/18 academic year on one of the University’s Study Abroad Programmes or undergraduate programmes.
  3. Applicants must be permanently domiciled inthe scholarship country (Canada, USA, Malaysia).
  4. The award will be made through consideration of competitive applications.The student chosen to receive the award will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability (which might be reflected in course results), energy and commitment to studies and quality of application.Personal Statements provided in support of the student’s Study Abroad Application will also be considered.
  5. Applications must be submitted on the application form attached. Other applications will not be accepted.
  6. The deadline for applicants is 15th July 2017.
  7. The value of the scholarship shown below will be paid directly to the holder to use towards living costs.
