Elected Experience: Larry delivers results. Stepping up to lead Higher Education heformed a nonpartisan team of businesses, students, teachers and legislators to cut the cost of college. Results: tuition freezes and business efficiencies at our state colleges and universities. In K12 schools: higherstandards, support for teachers.
Other Professional Experience: When not at sea in command, Larry led cost control reforms of national budget strategy.
Education: BS, Oregon State University; Federal Executive Fellow.
Community Service: Co-founder with wife of 37 years, Carla, of Refreshing Democracy program empoweringlocal citizens. Larry’s citizen teams are tackling ferry reform, teacher excellence, and youth obesity.
Statement: Called “the hardest working person in the legislature,” Larry Seaquist concentrates on economic recovery through education. His goal: help more people move to high skills, high pay jobs. A fiscal hawk, Larry insists we cut the cost of college so everyone can afford the education and training needed to thrive in Washington’s high tech economy. Angry that backroom bickering left our schools and ferry system in crisis, Larry demands the legislature get back to work with bipartisan cooperation benefiting all. A 32-year Navy veteran who captained 4 warships, Larry remains on duty for veterans and their families.

Michelle Caldier
(Prefers Republican Party)
Elected Experience: Delegate, Washington State Dental Association. Michelle successfully helped defeat dangerous legislation and protected the poor and seniors.
Other Professional Experience: Michelle is an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington and a dentist who devotes her practice to caring for the nursing home population. At 17, she supported herself working three minimum wage jobs.
Education: Central Kitsap High School. AAS, Olympic College. BS, University of Washington. DDS, University of Washington.
Community Service: Michelle has donated almost $1,000,000 of dental work to vulnerable seniors and children. She is a foster mother and served as Chair of the Access to Care Committee.
Statement: Throughout my life, I have overcome many challenges. As a young child, I was in foster care. I was on my own at 17. I became a single mother at a young age. Those life experiences enriched me and I worked hard to earn my doctorate.
Our state has significant failures in education, transportation, and job creation. We need new leadership. I understand the challenges we face and will work hard across party lines to give real solutions instead of political ones. I am a fourth generation Kitsap County resident and excited to serve my hometown as State Representative.
