TREASURER’S REPORT: Treasurer Tom Hitpas reported that expenses for the month were $7.92 for miscellaneous expenses. The current balance is $4,963.25. The year-end final report will be presented at the Annual Retreat.
MINUTES: It was moved and seconded that the November Minutes be approved as read.
ANNUAL RETRAT: Agendas for the retreat were handed out. It will be on January 11, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at Covenant Village, 9221 Wadsworth Blvd., Westminister, CO.
Sarah Schoeder from Eaton Senior Communities reported that many of their residents were very worried about any change to Medicare. She also demonstrated a toy cat that was being developed by a major toy company to be a companion for seniors.
Cary Johnson explained about the need to elect a new president. Since Ky Agnew was resigning from the Council, there was no one ready to step into the position. He explained that he would be willing to stay one more year as president if someone would be willing to take on the role of vice president for that year and learn the position. Jill Ross agreed to take on the position of vice president and then step into the presidency after one year and finish out that term.
Cary requested that the council give him feedback next month on the Granny Pods and the Homestead Act as to what their feelings were on each. The meeting was adjourned by President Cary Johnson.
The Council’s Annual Christmas party was then held. There was great food and a White Elephant Gift exchange.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Ellen Peters, Secretary
