Workshops –This year delegates will have the opportunity to attend 2 extended workshops. Please rank the topics in order of preference from 1-6 (where 1 is your first choice).
New Addressing Dyslexia Toolkit and free online training modules for Dyslexia and Inclusive Practice(primary and secondary levels)Delegates will learn how the re-developed toolkit can support their professional development, knowledge and understanding of dyslexia and literacy difficulties. The free online training modules and their links to GTCS Professional Standards and Professional Recognition will also be shared.
Planning for Change( upper primary and secondary levels)
This workshop focuses on the use ofmetaphor and intuitive decision-making techniques. itsuggests practical strategies and techniques for supporting young people with dyslexia along their life and learning pathways.
Using Comicsto Overcome School Struggles(primary and secondary levels)
Dekko Comics’ stories turn school information into entertaining comic strips that many youngpeople find engaging and a more natural way to absorb information.You will have the chance to try making your own visual aids to support your pupils.
Dyslexia and Maths(primary and secondary levels)
How to make Numbers and Maths terms easier for your Dyslexic learner - from the basics of add, subtract, multiply and divide, through to the NAT4 and NAT5 curriculum.
Visual Issues and Literacy(primary and secondary levels)
This interactive workshop will look at how a number of visual and visual perceptive conditions affect literacies acquisition.
Classroom strategies for neurodiversity/co-occurrence(primary and secondary levels)
This workshop explores dyslexia in relation to co-occurring learning differences. We aim to highlight common areas of difficulty, such as working memory, processing speed, visual stress, fine motor skills, and to identify strategies to support learners and to promote inclusion.

Bookingscancelled prior to Friday 6thOctober2017, will be reimbursed, but will incur a £40 cancellation fee. Bookings cancelled after 6th October will not be reimbursed.
