Do you want to be our new Finance Manager in DR Congo?
NRC has been present in DR Congo since 2001 and currently runs operations in the eastern provinces of North & South Kivu, Province Orientale and Kasai, with offices in Goma, Bukavu, Beni, Bunia and Kananga. The programme has an annual turnover of approximately NOK 140 mill. (2016). The DR Congo operation responds to populations affected by conflict and displacement. We reached 381.342 individuals in 2016 with education, food security, ICLA, WASH/shelter and emergency response.
The Finance Manager reports to the Head of Support.
Job description
Ensure that country set up adhere to Financial Handbook, NRC policies, donor and auditor requirements
Implement NRC’s financial systems, routines and procedures
Maintain overall budget control and monitor cash flows
Ensure that budget proposals are prepared as required by NRC rules and regulations
Management of financial team
Training of line managers and staff with financial responsibilities
Provide regular analysis and reports for NRC internal need and NRC donors
Implement anti-corruption policy
Ensure that all finance related physical and electronic documents are properly archived as required by NRC regulations
Ensure implementation of all corrective action from Audits and HO visits in finance
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience from working as a senior Financial Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems
Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal
Knowledge of the context in DR Congo and/ or region
Delegation /capacity building skills
Personal qualities
Managing performance and development
Empowering and building trust
Managing resources to optimize results
Handling insecure environments
Good sense of humour

- Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions and free housing of moderate standard.
- Grade: 9
- Duty station: Goma, with frequent travels (30 %) to the field. International staff are required to live in joint accomodation
- Approved health certficate will be requested before contract start.
