NOTICE OF POSITION: ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL

HASLETT HIGH SCHOOL

REQUIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Michigan Continuing or Professional Teacher Certificate.
  2. At least 4 years of demonstrated successful teaching experience,

preferably at the high school level and the achievement of tenure as a teacher.

  1. Possesses understanding of latest research-based practices which maximizes the impact on secondary student learning.
  2. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning, instruction, decision-making, evaluation, and conflict resolution.
  3. Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication and outstanding listening skills, responsive to the interests of students, staff, parents and community.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and understanding of staff development initiatives and leadership involvement in professional development.
  5. Exhibits characteristics of leadership and demonstrates the ability to work with others to create a team building atmosphere.
  6. Recognition as a consensus team leader who develops positive and effective relationships with administrators, faculty, parents, students and community.
  7. Demonstrates integrity and professional ethics.

DESIRED

QUALIFICATIONS:1. Masters degree in school administration, supervision, educational leadership or administrative certification.

2.Strong desire to take a leadership role, passion for teaching and learning, and intellectual curiosity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides leadership for high school curriculum and instruction, MTSS, PBIS, assessment, school improvement and data collection and other requirements of Michigan Department of Education.
  1. Communicates the philosophy, goals and objectives of the high school program to the students, parents, staff members and to the community at large.
  2. Works collaboratively as a member of the high school leadership team.
  3. Coordinates with the Principal regarding the recruiting, interviewing, screening and recommending of qualified candidates for high school staff positions.
  4. Evaluates and reviews the performance of staff assigned to Haslett High School.
  5. Provides guidance in resolving conflict with students, staff, administrators, and parents.
  6. Creates and maintains a safe environment for all students and staff.
  7. Works with Director of Special Education to program for students with special needs.
  8. Supervises and actively participates in afternoon and evening school activities as assigned.
  9. Assists the Principal in developing, implementing and monitoring the Haslett High School budget.
  10. Actively supports and assists the Principal in the development and creation of the master schedule and student activities.
  11. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal of Haslett High School.

TERMS OF

EMPLOYMENT:

220 days (44 weeks)
