2017 BLUE LIONS FIELD HOCKEY “INDOOR ROAR” TOURNAMENT

Coaches and Captains,

Please give each player a waiver to have signed for the day of the tournament. ALL participants must sign a waiver before they can participate (a parent signature is needed for participants under the age of 18). Extra copies will also be available at the tournament.

There will be a concession stand, as well as tournament t-shirts. A $3.00 admission fee will be charged to all spectators.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

Varsity/U19 Division

Junior Varsity/U16 Division

Jr. High Division: 8th grade and under

6 v 6 format ~ 5 field players & goalie (or 6 field players)

20 minute games with no halftime, no switching sides, no timeouts. Clock will only stop for injury.

Your team must be ready at time scheduled. Clock will start on time! Please be ready at least 5 minutes prior to start. If your team is not ready to play, they will be penalized with a goal against their team for every 2 minutes of tardiness. A complete forfeit would result in a final score of 5-0.

Each team is guaranteed at least 4 games. Format may vary depending on number of teams participating..

Cards: Green cards will result in a penalty of 1 minute, yellow = 3 minutes and red = remainder of game (and next game).

If teams finish with like records, the following tie-breaking procedure will be used:

* Point System * Goal Differential

1.Point System* 3 points = Win +1 point for Goals For

2.Head to Head Play * 1 points = Tie -1 point for Goals Against

3.Goal Differential * 0 points = Loss ** Maximum goal differential will be 6

4.Coin Toss (To discourage running up score.)**

Tie-breaking procedure in play off (single elimination) games ~ Ties will be broken by each team taking three 1v1 penalty shoot-outs. (6 seconds). If it remains tied, then sudden victory 1v1’s will be started. Same three shooters but order may change.
