Hammond Junior High Magnet School is pleased to announce our Students of the Month.
Each month a specific focus is overemphasized in each classroom. Teachers observe and record student
interaction with the selected application through various classroom assignments and activities. At the end of the month, teachers nominate and select students whom they feel best represented that focus.
Representing the 7th grade are LaKatherine Crease and Divya Chadha.
LaKatherine is the daughter of Kawanka Crease. Her grandparents are Corine Crease and the late Willie Wilson, Jr., Thomas Gray and Catherine Rudd. Her favorite subject is Math. In her spare time she enjoys creating hairstyles, reading, writing, and singing. After high school, she plans on attending Spellman in Atlanta, GA. LaKatherine is a member of Better Girls Club and Media.
Divya is the daughter of Rishi and Ruchika Chadha. Her favorite subjects are Science, Reading, Math, and Social Studies. In her spare time she loves reading. She also enjoys studying art, writing poetry, singing, and listening to music. After high school she plans on fulfilling her dreams as a Petro-chemical Engineer. She would like to attend college at Oxford University in England. Divya is a member of the Junior Beta Club, and is the founder of the new Book Club at HJHMS
Representing the 8th Grade is Neil Young.
Neil is the son of Mark and Tracy Haynes. His grandparents are Jim and Melba McRae and Sonny Moore. His favorite subjects are Computer, Spanish, Math, Science, and English. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, sleeping, and studying. After high school, he plans on attending college and entering a field to work with children. At HJHMS, Neil is involved in Spanish, Computer, and Band.
HJHMS is helping students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes and skills necessary to
participate actively and responsibly in a changing world.
