TOPIC: First Annual Student/Teacher Blood Drive
Did you know you could save two people's lives by donating one pint of blood?Well now is your opportunity to be a hero. The Health Occupations Students of America, also known as HOSA, will be hosting the first annual Student blood drive at East View High School next WednesdayMarch 27th.You must be 17 years old, weigh at least 115 pounds, and have a valid ID to give blood. Sign up at the Library between passing periods or at lunch.Let’s make this the best blood drive ever!

Congratulations to the Speech & Debate Team for an outstanding job at the UIL District Tournament on Saturday. East View advanced to Regionals in every speech event and won 2nd place Speech Team. Those placing were:

The Patriot track teams competed in the Eagle Relays on Saturday at East View HS. The following athletes had outstanding performances:

The Patriots will compete again in the Rouse JV and Varsity meets this Wednesday and Thursday. Great job Patriot track!

TOPIC: Patriot Softball
The East View Patriot Softball team travelled to Bastrop Cedar Creek on Friday Night for another District 17-4A contest. The Patriots scored first and often as the run ruled the Eagles 15-1 in only 5 innings. Bre Fass had three hits, Emily Jones scored three runs, andfreshman Shelby Edwards hitthe Patriots first-ever GrandSlam in the fourth inning.The next district contest for the Patriots is tomorrow night at the Patriot Softball Complex.
The Patriots will be hosting the Hutto Lady Hippos tomorrow night in a crucial district matchup at 6:00PM. The Patriots will also play at home on Thursday Night against Pflugerville Connally. We would love to see as many of you there as possible! Please come out and support your Patriots as they attempt to make the State Playoffs!
TOPIC: East View Girl’s Soccer
The EV girl’s soccer team defeated Hutto Friday night 1-0. Alyssa Luna scored the only goal. With this victory the Lady Patriot soccer team has made the playoffs and will face Buda Hays tomorrow night at 6:00 at Hays High school.
TOPIC: East View Boy’s Soccer
On Friday night the EV boy’s soccer team defeated Hutto 7-1 and has advanced to the state playoffs. They will face Buda Hays tomorrow night at Hays High School at 8:00.
Goal scorers were:3 goals by Tre Honshtein, 2 goals by Danny Sanchez, and one goal apieceby Leonel Jaramillo andMartin Lopez.

TOPIC: Bus to Soccer Playoff Games
Congratulations are due to both of our Soccer teams!Both are in the playoffs!Also, both will play their playoff games at Hays High School in Buda, tomorrow, Tuesday (3/26/13). The Ladies game starts at 6:00 and the Men play at 8:00. Game tickets sold at the gate will be $2 for Students, and Adults pay $5.
We will offer a fan bus for those wishing to see both squads in action! The first 46 students to pay $5 will be allowed to ride the bus. The $5 is payable to Mrs. Hunt in the front office, or sign up during your lunch. The bus will start loading right after school at 3:45at the Flag Pole in front of the school.Students riding the bus to the game will also need to ride the bus back.
TOPIC: Locker Meeting
There will be a short Locker meeting on Wednesday, March 27th. Please meet Mrs. Lewis in the Counselors office at 3:50.
TOPIC: EMT Course
Any student interested in taking the Emergency Medical Technician course next year should attend the mandatory meeting with a parent or guardian tomorrow,Tuesday, March 26th @ 5:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at East View High School. Sign up with Mrs. Spradlin or Mrs. Killen or at the East View High School library.
TOPIC: National College Fairs
Attention Juniors! The National College Fairs will be in Austin on April 9th. Over 200 Colleges will be attending this FREE event. It will be held at the Austin Convention Center from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
During this fair, you can meet one-on-one with college representatives and can also visit the Counseling Resource center if you have questions about choosing a major, financial aid, scholarship information, and more….
