This qualification has been reviewed and replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Cleaning (Level 3) with optional strands in Specialist Cleaning and Supervision [Ref: 3025].

This qualification contained standards that had expired or been replaced by other standards. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the replacement standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expiring or replaced standards – see table below.
The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualifications is 31 December 2016. The last date for award of the replaced qualifications is 31 December 2017, at which time they will be designated as discontinued.

Purpose
The National Certificate in Cleaning and Caretaking (Supervisor) [Ref:1115] recognises the skills and knowledge required by people who have the responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of staff in the cleaning industry. It combines practical knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, and safe work practices with theoretical skills for administration, workplace diversity, and communication with supervised staff.
The qualification comprises a compulsory section to provide a firm foundation for practical employment. The qualification may provide a stepping-stone to the National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 3) [Ref: 0743].
