Field Service PowerGen Tech
Cummins Pacific, LLC in W. Sacramento, CA is looking for a talented PowerGen Field Service Technician who will have the primary responsibility of providing maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and repairs to generators. This includes assuring work is performed in a manner that is both expeditious and cost effective to the customer and CP. Work is done in the field independently and in conjunction with the Service Supervisor, Parts Professional and Director of Operations as an internal resource to promote 100% customer satisfaction for every product and service Cummins Pacific provides.
Some tasks include:
•Greet customers in a friendly, courteous manner; communicate service status updates to customers as needed and explain repairs as needed.
•Gather accurate equipment information (Gen Serial #, ATS Serial #, Voltage, Phase et.al.) and present to the Service Supervisor in order to assure proper warranty coverage is determined.
•Perform troubleshooting by utilizing InPower, Insite and QSOL trouble shooting trees; document specific values when requested.
•Work with Service Supervisor to draft accurate repair estimates (parts/labor) by completing quote sheets.
•Perform all aspects of generator repairs and services on Cummins and other manufacturer's equipment.
•Perform preventative maintenance services and load bank tests. Communicate finding with customer and Service Supervisor.
•Maintain a service truck to Cummins Pacific standards.
•Return failed parts and cores (tagged appropriately) to Parts department upon repair completion.
•Perform work in accordance with Cummins safety standards and practices both on site and on highway.
•Must participate in the “On Call” after hour service rotation
•Manage and operate Field Service vehicles in accordance with established policies, procedures and California state law.
Job Requirements:
•Technical degree and 3+ years of experience as a PowerGen Service Technician or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Complete set of technician tools.
•Acceptable driving record (no more than two points; no DUIs).
Salary Range: $28.00 to $35.93 hourly
