Step 1 (Module 3): Identify the overall course goals and number them.

Course Goal / Goal #
Example: The goal of AST 1001: Introduction to Astronomy is to understand how the universe and all its contents began, have developed, and will end--and to appreciate our place in the cosmos. / 1

Chunk/group your objectives by the number of weeks that your course semester will run and copy the objectives table for each module, unit or chapter. NOTE: It is perfectly fine to have multiple modules per week or multiple weeks per module.

Step 2 (Faculty Institute module 4) Fill in the learning objectives for one module indicating which course goal the objective will help the student meet

Step 3 (Faculty Institute Module 4) Identify the level of Bloom’s Taxonomy (1) Remembering, (2) Understanding, (3) Applying, (4) Analyzing, (5) Evaluating, (6) Creating

Step 4 (Faculty Institute module 5) Add the assessment for each objective

Step 5 (module 6) Add the instructional materials that will help students succeed on the assessment

Step 6 (module 7) Identify possible tools that could used for each activity and assessment
