Manchester City Football Development Tour

As you may be aware the PE Department have for many years taken groups of students on sport development tours. Most recently we have taken groups of boys and girls to Glasgow Celtic Football Club and Cardiff Blues Rugby Club.

At Ivanhoe we pride ourselves on the amount of extra-curricular clubs and team activities we offer to our students and we are very pleased to report after discussions with our preferred tour provider‘InspireSport’ wehave been able to provisionally booka 3 day - 2 night football development tour for the Year 8 and 9 boys and girlsfootball teams to Manchester City from Wednesday 29th November to Friday 1st December.

InspireSport aim to create tours to suit the needs of individual schools utilising expert coaching staff and state-of-the-art facilities at top-flight clubs. Students benefit from a ‘once in a lifetime’ visit, experiencing life inside a professional club. The tours leave children feeling confident, matured and inspired.

Our tailor-made package includes:

  • All transportation in a executive air conditioned coach
  • 2 nights at the Hallmark Manchester South Hotel
  • Half Board meal basis at the hotel
  • 2 x lunches (one lunch to be taken at Manchester City’s CFA facility and one packed lunch provided by the hotel)
  • 3 x 90 minute training sessions on all aspects of play from City Football Schools coaching staff
  • Use of the state-of-the-art City Football Academy (CFA) facility for all scheduled training sessions
  • Use of ‘City Football Schools’ kit for all training sessions at CFA
  • 1 x friendly football fixture (per team) against local opposition
  • Behind the scenes tour of the Etihad Stadium
  • Tickets to watch Manchester City vs. Southampton in the Premier League
  • Visit to the National Football Museum
  • Services of inspiresport representative to stay with us throughout the tour

The cost of the trip is outlined in the box belowand will have to be met by parental contributions:

If your child is eligible for free school meals then the school will meet the proportion of

the cost which covers their meals. This will reduce the total parental contribution to the following:

I am mindful that the tour is a significant cost, only a couple of months away and we are approaching the build up to Christmas (a present perhaps?). I hope you agree the tour is jam packed, value for money and offers inspirational experiences whilst making memories that will last a lifetime.

If you would like your child to attend this trip, please submit the electronic reply slip belowbyMonday 2nd October 2017. No further consent or money is required at this stage. Should your child be allocated a place we will inform you by Tuesday 3rd October 2017.

To help with your planning and decision making, please be aware that a deposit of £150.00 or the full amount will need to paidby Friday 6th October 2017. The remaining balance will be due by Friday 3rdNovember 2017.
