BAE SYSTEMS’ANNOUNCES BRIEFING SCHEDULE FOR DSEI
BAE Systems announces a series of media briefings at Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2015, taking place from Tuesday 15 to Friday 19 September at ExCeL London. As in previous years, BAE Systems will have a major presence at the show; exhibiting a wide range of technologies and cost-effective solutions for military, security and commercial customers.
All media briefings will be held in the BAE Systems sponsored media centre. Please visit for updates to this schedule as well as news releases. The BAE Systems stand will be located in the South Hall, S3-110.
Tuesday 15 September
10:30hrs:Beowulf: Taking On the Toughest Terrain in Battle
A new all-terrain vehicle will debut at DSEI that will reach more places and carry more cargo than any other vehicle of its kind. Based on BAE Systems’ legacy BvS10, the Beowulf brings new and improved capabilities to the soldier. It can traverse through water and swamps, snow and soft sand while taking on 45-degree slopes to deliver soldiers, equipment and supplies.Presenter: Tore Akser, Platform Manager of BvS10 and BvS10 Beowulf.
13:30hrs:Advanced Pilot Display System Put To the Test In Flight Trials
This briefing will reveal results from recent flight trials that evaluated BAE Systems’ newest and most advanced helmet-mounted display system – the Striker® II HMD. Hear how this all-digital HMD system with night vision technology integrated directly into its visor performed aboard the Eurofighter Typhoon and what BAE Systems has planned as a result. 14:45hrs: Typhoon Capability Update
This briefing will provide an update on the evolution of Typhoon’s capabilities, including the integration of Brimstone 2, Meteor and Stormshadow all of which ensure the air forces which operate Typhoon have the equipment they need to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world.Presenters: Mark Bowman, Director of Flight Operations.
Wednesday 16 September
12:30hrs: Adapting New Technologies on Combat Vehicles
This briefing will highlight key technological advantages on CV90, including technology adapted from Formula One cars to create a smoother ride while curtailing wear and tear on the vehicle. This briefing will also showcase a new product ‘BattleView 360’ which is an advanced technology system that allows soldiers inside armoured combat vehicles to ‘see through’ them for enhanced situational awareness.Presenters: Dan Lindell, Platform Manager, CV90 - BAE Systems; Peder Sjölund, Head New Technologies, BattleView 360.
14:45hrs: Delivering The Royal Navy’s Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers
The construction of the Royal Navy aircraft carriers, the future centrepiece of the Britain’s defence capability, represents an engineering challenge of unprecedented scale and complexity for U.K. shipbuilding. A year on from the official naming ceremony of HMS Queen Elizabeth, the second in class carrier, HMS Prince of Wales, is now in assembly in Rosyth, Scotland. This briefing provides an overview of progress being made with both ships, ahead of HMS Queen Elizabeth being delivered to the Royal Navy in 2017.Presenter: Ian Booth, Managing Director - Aircraft Carrier Alliance.

11:00hrs: Threat Intelligence: Setting the Cyber Scene
As cyber space evolves so do the threats which seek to exploit people, businesses, and even whole countries, the most significant threats we see today are from those with nationalistic motivations or supported by nation states. This talk will reflect on some of trends observed in the threat landscape through public reporting, but also draw upon BAE Systems’ insights from responding to cyber-attacks and tracking those behind them. We will provide the audience with an update on the why and the how of the most significant cyber-attack campaigns we see today. Presenter: Dr Adrian Nish, Head of Cyber Threat Intelligence - BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.
