Dear Doctor
Stuart Jobling and I would like to invite you to join us for a 2 day course on Consultation Skills. We will be using video tapes of your consultations and also our consultations. I enclose a programme of the course.
The course has the approval of the Trainers Group and your trainer has agreed to allow you to take study leave to attend the course. Please can you confirm these arrangements with your practice to ensure that your surgeries are cancelled.
If you would like to attend you will need to bring with you a video tape of one of your surgeries. Your trainer will be pleased to assist you with producing this. You will need to obtain written consent from your patients for the tape to be used for teaching. I enclose a specimen consent form.

I hope you will join us on the course. We have not done it in before but we believe that learning the consultation in small groups has great advantages and can also be fun.
We look forward to seeing you.
Yours sincerely
Gordon Cameron
