A Modern Reformation

The theme for this year's Sunday morning Bible studies is "A Modern Reformation." As we celebrate the 500th anniversary of Luther posting the 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, we want to understand how the spiritual victories God brought many years ago remain the heart of our personal salvation.

As we go through this year, then, we will follow a sequence which highlights key elements of the Reformation historically as well as the Reformation's key doctrinal emphases.

To begin we work through Paul's letter to the Romans. The new calendar year begins with an overview of the life of Martin Luther.Following that is a four-week study on Modern Catholicism. We conclude this year of Reformation study with a series entitled "The Word Endures: Lessons from Luther Yesterday and Today."

September 17 & 24and October 8, 15, 22 and 29 -Reformation Foundation--Paul's Letter to the Romans. . Paul's letter to the Romans highlights the key teachings of Scripture, God's message of salvation to humankind, in an exceptionally orderly and detailed way. The book of Romans is packed with divine revelation that speaks to you, that helps you understand the heart of God. The book of Romans was key for Martin Luther, central to his own discovery of God's grace. Experience your own personal Reformation as you marvel again at God seriousness, at God's love, and at God's purpose for you as you wait for his appearing.
