Old Business:
- Pavilion Update-the pavilion is built and is fully enclosed until fundraising can be done to continue the addition of restroom fixtures, windows and more.
- Dedication Stone-would like to see the engraving of the stone at the head of the newest soccer field done by fall in anticipation of a dedication ceremony before the soccer season. This will fall under the need to fundraise and several ideas were discussed to try at Old Home Day.
- Electricity should be completed prior to Old Home Day on July 4th. This would be to the pedestal beyond the first base dugout.
- Park Use Form-Marsha would like to see this process completed and presented to the select board for approval. More outside entities are inquiring about using the park and it may become a necessity in the near future.
- Update on Park use-The Park is currently being used by the adult softball league in Grantham, a men’s soccer group and inquiries have been made by a Lebanon group to also use the field for their adult softball group. The park is in continuous use by the Recreation Department’s programs.
- Geese-geese are back and will be addressed by using pyrotechnics by Grantham Police Department.
New Business:
- Fundraising-This is a necessity as funds are needed to continue progress at the park. Nicole Mason and Julia H are willing to support and follow through with a few ideas. Julia mentioned a wine/cheese pairing event to promote support for the park as a fundraiser. Silent Auction, Old Home Day offerings (watermelon table or Grantham Water bottle table) is some ideas. Also a pitching booth to record speed.
- Dedication Event-This is planned for the fall to dedicate the newest soccer field. Intentions are to invite the Timken representatives, Matt Carl, Bob ______and Liz Hoffman.
- Park Maintenance Change-Jeff Hastings is now in charge of field care and mowing at the park.
- Warren mentioned the need to create a better sign at the Shedd Road entrance so folks will know to turn into the park. Many folk are turning around in his driveway.
- Parking for baseball events, etc. should be rotated so grass is not destroyed per Warren.
- Old Home Day will be held July 4th from 11-3.
- Jamielynn is overseeing the blueberry booth this summer.
