Primary and Secondary School Ski Trip 2016

Monday 7 – Saturday 12 March

Dear Parents,

The school ski trip to Pamporovo, Bulgaria is fast approaching and I would like to use this opportunity to share important information.

Paperwork:

Please send in a copy of your child’s;

-passport

-residency permit

visa (if applicable)

byFriday 26 February. These documents will be checked by our Deputy Principal for their validity. Please hand in the copies to our secretaries or scan and send them to:

Primary

Departure:

Thebuses will leave from the Zek campus at 6:30am on Monday 7March. Please be there at 6:05amas we will have to check all passports and residence permits as well as loading the buses.

Maslak pick up:

The buses will stop in Maslak, big Opet petrol station,right hand side going toward the high way. (Coordinates: 41.107340, 29.015413) at approximately 7:00 am to pick those up who requestedto be picked up there.Please be there 20 min earlier soMr. Dave can start collecting and checking passports.

Luggage:

We expect to have to unload all luggage at the border coming back into Turkey for customs reasons. Therefore please keep the luggage as small as possible as your child will be responsible for carrying it.

As well as all BASIC OVER NIGHT items, just a reminder that your child is required to bring the following: sunscreen, ski gloves, ski trousers and jacket, ski goggles, ski helmet (if you have), preferably ski socks, thermal underwear as well as appropriate/warm clothes for after skiing and playing in the snow.

All personal items should be CLEARLY LABELLED!

Medication/Allergies:

Please provide all necessary medication for your child. It is required to be CLEARLY LABELLED (name and instructions).

Packed food:

For the travellingday, as it is a long journey, please ensure your child had breakfast and a packed snack including water for approximately 9h journey on Monday.

Electronics/valuable items:

If your childwould like to bring a mobile phone, a tablet to watch moviesplease be reminded that the school will not take any responsibility for any stolen or forgotten items. Additional USB power packs are of great value for the 9h journey. The school will be able to put the devices in the hotel safe; we advise you to do so.

Pocket money:

Breakfast, lunches and dinner are provided and the students will hardly be able to have the opportunity to spend any money.However, please provide your child with enough (at your discretion) TL to purchase snacks at stop/s in Turkey. Your child might want to purchase presents and/or snacks/drinks in Bulgaria. Therefore local currency is needed (Bulgarian Lev, BGN). USD, Euros or GBP can easily be exchanged in the hotels. It is NOT possible to exchange TL!

Saturday 12 March - Buffet breakfast 07.30

Departure 9:30am

Arrive at BP petrol station(NOT OPET!) just after ITU metro in Maslak at approximately 7:00pmandin Zek7:30pm, depending on traffic.

We will send out an email/SMSon our progress so please keep an eye on your mail server that afternoon/evening.

An e-mail/SMS will also inform you of our daily adventures.
