As a consultant to educational institutions and corporations, she specializes in analysis, evaluation and the design of online learning and

performance solutions. Brenda will be working with Harold Stolovitch on creating a technology strategy for HSA. She will support HSA personnel in the areas of evaluation and on-line learning. There are no associate birthdays to report on for the month of May. If your birthday was this month, and we missed you, please share your special day with us so we can acknowledge you next year. Please email your birth date to Samantha Greenhill at .

Recently Geri Lopker, a Southern California associate, requested permission to reprint HSA's newsletter lead story on Transfer of Learning in her local ASTD - Orange County chapter publication. We were more than happy to accommodate. This is a wonderful way to raise the visibility of HSA in your locale. If you belong to a professional or business/community organization you feel would be interested in HSA newsletter articles, please don't hesitate to ask us for reprint rights. Requests should be directed to Samantha Greenhill at .

Did you know that HSA pays finder's fees for referred client business? If you know of organizations that are looking for the type of services HSA provides, please contact your Regional Director or Erica Keeps with referral contact information. If HSA is awarded the contract, you will be financially rewarded.

As HSA grows it must expand its human resource network to meet client demand. Do you have friends or family members who possess the skills required for our core business areas: instructional design and development, performance consulting, technical writing and training delivery. Also, if you know people who have experience developing various types of instructional interventions, especially computer-based, and Web-based self-study, as well as interactive distance learning, please help these individuals and us out by referring them to HSA through your Regional Director or Erica Keeps.

Our associate network is made up of both independent individuals and individuals who are principals of their own companies. In either case, associates have independent contractor status with HSA.

HSA contracts with specific individuals (based on their skills and appropriateness for a particular project assignment) to perform work within our key competency areas. Individuals under contract with HSA are not permitted to assign their work to others.

Outside of our core competencies, we have strategic alliances. These firms may produce videos, CBT, EPSS, etc. In these instances, HSA agreements are with the company and not the individual. Subcontractor proposals and subsequent agreements with HSA specify who will comprise the project team.

As questions about this area do occasionally arise, it is best to consult with your Regional Director when in doubt about "assignment of work" issues.
