Fair Share Fiscal Responsibility to Band
It takes between $40,000 - $50,000 to run a band program of our size. While the district supports us as much as they are able we still must raise the bulk of this in order cover the basic needs of the band program. This includes things like music, show, entry fees to competitions, uniforms, instrument repair, props and pit equipment and food just to name a few. In the past, we have had a situation where a small group of students/parents are doing all the work to create income for the band program. All students are expected to contribute financially to the band in the following ways:
Student will pay a band fee of $150
Option One
- Payment 1 - $25 due 3/9/2018
- Payment 2 – $35 due 7/25/2018
- Payment 3 - $35 due 8/17/2018
- Payment 4 – $35 due 9/17/2018
- Payment 5 - $20 due 10/17/2018
- Parent will work at least one full home game in the concession stand
Option Two
- Payment 1 - $25 due 3/9/2018
- Raise at least $75 (profit) in Spring fundraiser (April 2018)
- Raise at least $50 (profit) back to school fundraiser (August 2018)
- Parent will work at least one full home game in the concession stand
Option Three
- Parent will work at least one full home game in the concession stand
- Student will fill out scholarship request form
- Scholarships may be full or partial
- Scholarships will be based on need
- Scholarships will be given out by a panel of band booster officers based on their application (student will be anonymous to everyone but Mrs. Reitz when this is done). NO one except Mrs. Reitz and the treasurer will know who receives scholarships.
Please Note:
- This is for Scarlet Knights only. Students who participate in concert band will only be responsible for a small $25 fee plus concert attire.
- This fee includes all uniform items except shoes. Students who need polo shirt and uniform short will not be charged for this.
- This fee does not include concert attire for new concert band members.
- Students who are not in good financial standing (have not fundraised/paid fees by the first football game) will not attend football games with us until they are current with their fees. Students will be given a written assignment to make up the performance grade
