TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY, with the possibility of teaching GEOLOGY
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher of Geography to teach throughout the age and ability range in our thriving department in September 2018.Longsands Academy is a successful 11-18 comprehensive school rated as good by Ofsted in October 2014. St Neots is a market town with good facilities, within easy reach of Cambridge and with excellent transport links to London.
The Geography and Geology Department has a strong track record of improving results, and excellent uptake for Geography at GCSE and A Level. GCSE Geology is running for the first time this year, and there has been a good uptake of the subject at A Level; Geology teaching would be available for a suitably qualified candidate. The department of six is a strong team, who have worked successfully to hone and develop inspirational Geography and Geology teaching across the Key Stages.
The successful applicant will contribute to the developmentof the existing high standards of learning and teaching in Geography at St Neots Learning Partnership.
Applicants must be innovative and energetic. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic classroom practitioner to make a real difference. The role could be suitable for an experienced Teacher or an NQT. Longsands Academy has a strong track record of supporting and retaining NQTs by ensuring excellent mentoring; there are also many opportunities for involvement in wider school activities.
