Glossy’sNotes

It was nice to be at home on Saturday against one of our closest neighbours and rivals. It was two clubs that have fought some epic battles in recent times, and we were all excited in anticipation of what the day would bring.

Congratulations to Dion and the boys on notching their first win in the new comp in a replay of last year’s Granny. The conditions were testing with cyclonic winds and torrential rain, but they got the job done in the end. Although it was our first win for the season the signs have been good, so now the monkey is off the back we look to build form here. Next week it’s Bonbeach and a chance to gain some momentum. Its head down and bum up for 4 quarters and the result will look after itself.

The seniors made it 2 in a row as they too gather momentum after a massive wake up in round 1. Probably the most pleasing thing was an even contribution from the 22, something that will hold us in good stead moving forward. Next week will be another terrific challenge against last year’s runner up in Division 1. They’re the sort of challenges we embrace as we look to gain respect in our new unchartered waters. Let’s bring our A game and see where it takes us.

A special mention to the netballers who won 3 out of 4 on Saturday for the first time in our history. A great reward for years of toil.

Thought of the week: If we can’t see air, do fish see water!
