SHSC has recently been successful in securing two newly commissioned drug services in Sheffield: The Opiate and Non-Opiate Services which now works alongside our existing Alcohol Service. We comprise of a large team of health and social care professionals, trained to work with individuals experiencing addiction problems. We provide assessment and treatment services, including substitute medication; harm reduction, talking therapies and support to enable people to recover from their addictions.
Applications are invited from experienced GPs to join the team at an exciting and crucial time in terms of future development.
Candidates should have an understanding of working with service users who experience addiction issues.
The role will involve prescribing, supporting the wider MDT, safeguarding and providing a holistic primary care approach to a patients needs. You will be expected to liaise with community, hospital and primary care based colleagues and signpost patients to appropriate services.
Through working as part of a multi disciplinary team you will be expected to promote and develop excellence within the addiction field.
You will be based primarily at The Fitzwilliam Centre in Sheffield city centre with the possibility of providing GP input into locality based clinics.
