THE ALL IRELAND
SOLO PIPING AND DRUMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011
The Championships, which are under the joint auspices of the Irish Pipe Band Association and the Royal
Scottish Pipe Band Association (Northern Ireland Branch) will be held in Trinity Comprehensive School, Ballymun, Dublin on Saturday 17th September 2011.
Directions
To M50 from North and South. Take Exit for Ballymun.. Go straight down to Ballymun, through a series of 8 sets of Traffic Lights. Immediately after the 8th set of traffic lights turn left, through gate, into school.
CATERING WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THE DAY
Piping at 10.00 am and Drumming at 11 00 am.
Competitors must sign in from 9 30am.
JOINT ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE RULES TO APPLY
Only registered members of bands in membership of the Irish Pipe Band Association and the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association are eligible to take part.
NOTE
Players from out-with the jurisdiction of the JAC will play in the grade closest to the standard they are presently graded at.
To substantiate application for entry from such players a letter of grading must accompany entry from their parent association.
UNIFORMS MUST BE WORN. MAXIMUM 3 MINUTES FOR TUNING
Entries on the attached form only please and must BE COMPLETED IN ALL SECTIONS USING CODES PROVIDED.
The appropriate FEE/FEES must accompany each entry. NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED BY PHONE.
Contest Grades
Juvenile: Confined to competitors who have not attained the age, on the 1st of November, 2010, as specified by RSPBA and IPBA rules. Evidence of age must be produced on request.
N.B. Junior Grades A and B are being organized as a Pilot Scheme for 2011 by the JAC.
Junior A: Confined to Finalists from the 2010 Junior Final who have not been upgraded to the Intermediate Grade and entrants from members of Grade 1 bands Junior B: Confined to competitors from members of Grades 4b, 4a, 3b, 3a and 2 bands
Intermediate Confined to players who have hitherto been graded as intermediate by the JAC and players who have won a junior All Ireland 1st Place.
NB 2nd & 3rd placed players in the Junior Grade All Ireland 2010 have the option of upgrading to Intermediate Grade and must remain in Intermediate Grade if this option is taken up
Senior Confined to players who have hitherto been graded as senior by the JAC and players who have won an Intermediate All Ireland 1st Place
NB 2nd placed players in Intermediate Grade All Ireland 2010 have the option of upgrading to Senior Grade and must remain in Senior Grade if this option is take up

Competitors
- Competitors in Senior Piping should be aware that there is no stop between time signatures
PIOBAIREACHD COMPETITIONS
Piobaireachd Competitions are being held starting at 10 am.
Piobaireachd A: Players must submit two Piobaireachd with adjudicator deciding tune to play.
Piobaireachd B: Players must submit one Piobaireachd.
Entry Fee: Certificate of Achivement and Juvenile grades: £6 / €7.50 Junior / Intermediate / Senior and Piobaireachd: £12 / €15
PAYMENTS
Cheques and Postal Orders should be made payable to the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (NI Branch) or to the Irish Pipe Band Association.
PRIZES
Medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each grade. Perpetual trophy will accompany the medals for 1st prize in each grade.
In Drumming contests the number of pipers is limited to two. ALL competitors must be registered members of either association both drummers and accompanying pipers must wear uniform.
A competitor having cause to protest must lodge same with a deposit of £10.00 / €12 with the contest secretary before the presentation of prizes.
The deposit will be returned if the protest is upheld.

GENERAL RULES SMOKING
Smoking in all government buildings, including schools, is strictly illegal and forbidden
PRACTICE ROOMS
On arrival at the solos one person from each band will be required to sign a form guaranteeing that the
classroom will be left as found. Bands will be held financially responsible for any damage caused in the
classrooms.
Refreshments will be available at the contest.
Achievement Awards
This is for younger players, under 12 years on the 1st November 2010, (RSPBA / IPBA Rules).
It is aimed at players who are starting out on their piping and drumming careers.
(Excludes Juvenile players who are playing in the Juvenile grades of the AI Solos)

THE ADJUDICATOR IN THE ROOM PROVIDED AT THE REQUIRED TIME WE
HAVE LIMITED STEWARDS AT THIS EVENT BECAUSE OF HOLIDAYS AND WE
WILL NOT BE SEARCHING FOR COMPETITORS PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE
NOT DISQUALIFIED THROUGH CARELESSNESS.
