Holiday Intersession 2009-10
Holiday Intersession classes meet for 11 days between the fall and spring semesters (December 28, 29, 30, 31 and January 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 regardless of published or added university or state holidays) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a one hour break for lunch. Holiday Intersession courses do not meet however on January 1 in observance of the New Year.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Students should be aware not all university departmental and administrative offices will be open December 22–31 due to the Winter Closing Schedule. Students should plan ahead and resolve issues and any questions about Holiday Intersession offerings and registration with departmental offices before the closing dates. Override requests should be directed to the department offering the course. We encourage students to register early. Registration dates for the Holiday Intersession are the same as those found on the Spring Advanced Registration 2010 [PDF].
The Holiday Intersession Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Grace E. Harris Hall, Fifth Floor during Intersession.
Students may register for one, and only one Holiday Intersession course during Spring 2010 advance registration. Intersession classes are listed in the Spring Schedule with a section number beginning in “V” sequence (Example: ENGL206-V03 with dates 12/28/2009 – 1/9/2010). Intersession classes, however, will not be computed in the calculation of spring load for tuition purposes. An intersession fee (regular tuition/no fees) will be charged and will appear on the spring bill. An intersession class will count as part of the spring load for financial aid purposes.
A full refund will be granted if an intersession class is dropped before midnight on the day of the first class meeting, December 28. There will be no partial refunds during Holiday Intersession. The last day to withdraw from a three-credit intersession class with a mark of “W” is January 3, before midnight. For classes of fewer than 3 credits, withdrawal dates may be obtained from the Student Services Center located in Room 104, 827 W. Franklin St.
Any student who is suspended at the end of the fall semester will be dropped from his or her intersession course.
For more information about Holiday Intersession, contact the Office of the Vice Provost for Instruction at (804) 827-8204.
