AGM Meeting Minutes

January 18, 2012

Mary Ann Karp, U-13 & Above

Gary Marsh, Board President, called the meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Stadium Complex.

Gary Marsh, President:

  • Introduction of Board Members
  • Previous meeting minutes approved
  • County is helping with two new fields – no lights at this time
  • Tournament dates were limited due to Mardi Gras and other club conflicts
  • Reminded us the Club is there for kids and not about money
  • Explained Elections/Voting Process

David Kemp, DOC:

  • WPSL Showcase is upcoming
  • East Division currently has four teams
  • Two previous players have returned as Coaches to GCT
  • Club has strengthened a great deal this last year
  • We need to get players at a younger age – Community education is needed for this.

Dawn Hart, Club Manager:

  • Rec Program has good numbers
  • Spring Rec Registration is underway
  • Winter Indoor League has registration link
  • Mole Crickets on Fields 1-5
  • Working with County to get new fields
  • A lot of non-Club teams playing on fields
  • Looking at possible fence for Field 6 and 7

Mark Carr, Registrar U12 & Below:

  • FYSA U12 and under – Quick turnaround with FYSA
  • 370 Players

Mary Ann Karp, Registrar U13 & Above:

  • 230 Players

Tournament Report (Gerald):

  • 15 Teams registered at this time (5 within club)
  • Venders have been selected
  • Asked Board to consider having a Board Member joining the Chamber of Commerce
  • Pensacola Sports Association is reaching out to GCT

Ian Welsh, Treasurer:

  • Financials Balance Sheet provided
  • Electronic payment will be encouraged by all
  • Cash is okay at this time
  • P&L shows profit over 2010 YTD

Jeff Gulsby, Vice President:

  • Gary turned over the President seat to Jeff.
  • Jeff thanked Gary for doing a great service for the Club during his term as President.

Elections/Voting: Attendees were provided a ballot, turned in ballot to Gary Marsh and votes were counted by Jeff Gulsby and Gary Marsh. The following positions were awarded: Charlie Griffith, Rec Commissioner; Treasurer, Ian/Christa Welsh; Billy Mims, Vice President.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m. by Jeff Gulsby.
