GUIDELINES & REGULATIONS

the fine print

Only paid, registered mothers of POMOMC-affiliated clubs in good standing are eligible to attend the convention.

All registrations for activities are on a first-come, first-served basis and all fees MUST be paid in advance. If an activity is completely booked by the time we receive your registration OR if we cancel the activity due to lack of interest you will receive a refund for that event at convention. Cancellation or failure to attend by the memberAT ANY TIME will forfeit all applicable registration and activity fees.

The deadline for clubs to submit individual registrations to Cranberry MOMs must be postmarked by February 1, 2015. Any registration postmarked after the February 1, 2014 deadline will be charged a late fee of $5 for each individual late registration. Due to planning, please contact Cranberry MOMs before submitting any late applications after March 1, 2015.

Early registration is strongly encouraged. Pampering clients will be filled on a first come basis.

The registration packets and form will be available online at on the POMOMC website. Individuals should download the packets and forms to submit to their State Representatives. State Representatives may download the forms and mail the Club Registration form and completed individual forms to:

Registration will not be considered completed however, until all monies have been received. The deadline for mailed forms and money is February 1, 2015.Any cancellation by the participant AT ANY TIME will forfeit all applicable registration and activity fees.

All hotel reservations must be made by individual or club rep. Price is $112 plus taxes. Deadline to register is April 1, 2015 at 5PM. Check in at 3PM but early requests will be honored if possible. Please remember to request an accessible room if required.

As per POMOMC request, we are requiring that all members attending convention read the disclaimer and sign at the end of their registration page acknowledging your understanding of written guidelines.

Equal portions of the profits from the weekend will be donated to Zelie Friends of the Park (A nonprofit group founded with the mission of preserving and enhancing the Zelienople Community Park) and the Cranberry Cup (an organization which conducts organized events whereas all facets of the community contribute to raising money for a worthy cause, they promote volunteerism, community spirit and goodwill towards a person or family in need).

Before You Come

Photo Contest

Find your favorite ‘kissy-face’ photo of adults, multiples, or singletons and submit to win in either ‘Just So Kissable’ or ‘Only a Mother Could Love That Face’ categories.

Choose photos that are 3” x 5”, 4” x 5”, or 5” x 7” (no larger or smaller please) and submit with your registration form. Be sure to include name and club name on each picture. Pictures will be available for pick up after Saturday’s luncheon.

Memorials/Acknowledgements

Included in the convention book is a section dedicated to remembering others. Individual or club memorials will be placed in the program for $3 each. Also included in this section are ‘shout-outs’ to acknowledge someone. All funds collected are donated to the Doris and Lonnie Whitcomb Scholarship Fund.

To add a memorial or acknowledgement to the convention book, please complete the information on the registration form and include $3 for each submission.

YOUR Souvenir Shirt

One size fits all. Right? NO!

Bring your own black shirt to be bedazzled with red lips and silver KISS 2015. To have your own souvenir shirt, please complete the information on the registration form and include $15 for each shirtthat you are bringing to be bedazzled. Leave shirts (with your name included) at the registration table Thursday or Friday morning, pick up after noon Friday totally bedazzled!

Be prepared to purchase twin and higher order-multiple related items while supportingyour fellow clubs. Don’t forget your bar so you can add this year’s KISS dangle!

Music and Movie: 8 p.m.

Come and sing along with your friends to the ABBA music in Mama Mia (here I go again… How can you resist it?) Fee covers movie ready snacks. (bring your own beverage) $5.00

An Appetizer, A Drink, A Live Band, and Dancing:

Board the hotel shuttle to be whisked away to Jergel’s Rhythm Grille featuring a live band for your party enjoyment. The entertainment schedule for April will not be determined until February. We are unable to publish a price but are willing to contact you when we know the name of the band and cover charge. A nationally known band commands a $15-$40 cover charge. Jergels has agreed to waive a cover charge for a lesser known band for POMOMC members. Doors open at 4 PM for dining, shows begin at 8PM. Check the venue out before deciding:

We have listened and hope that our group of 12 selected vendors meets with approval!

Find and meet the member whose name is in your registration. Questions will be included to help jump start the conversation. Game cards will be signed by new friend and returned to registration to be entered in a drawing for gift cards. Participation is NOT required

Haircuts

No time to get your hair done before you leave? No problem! Simple haircuts will be done on-site by certified stylists for a special POMOMC price. $17

Gel Manicures

On-site manicures by cosmetologists with gel polish and lights to keep your manicure for longer than the convention weekend! $25

30 minute Massages

By popular demand, massages in the hotel suites! In order to service as many moms as possible massages are 30 minutes and participants need to provide their own sheets for table and personal covering. (Bring from home or pull off of your hotel bed.)First registrants receive priority scheduling. $30

STATE MEETINGS

State Board Meeting 8:30 a.m.–9:45 a.m.

Attendance at the state board meeting is open to all moms at the convention. All state officers, state representatives, committee chairs, and current and future convention chairs are required to attend. Take this opportunity to learn what is happening in our state organization.

Come Share With Me 10 a.m.

A support group for moms of all ages who are looking for understanding due to the loss of a child or a child’s disability. This can be a multiple or a singleton. It is a special sharing time to meet other moms who have been in your situation.

Club Corner 10 a.m.

Attend this meeting to learn how clubs across the state handle their membership, meetings, speakers, fund raising, sales, excursions, finances, committees, and communications. This is highly recommended for local club presidents and board members, but is open to all convention attendees.

HOTT (Has Older Twins and Triplets) Moms 10 a.m.

If you have older multiples, attend this newer state meeting to enjoy a useful and fun exchange with our more experienced moms. Subjects for sharing may include, but are not limited to, college children, retirement, moms of the bride/groom, moms-in-law, and grandchildren.

Triplets, Quads, and More 10 a.m.

Attend this meeting if you are the lucky mom of higher-order multiples. This meeting will give you an opportunity to listen and share with moms who have a similar challenge of having three or more children the same age.

Adoptive, Surrogates and Donors 11 a.m.

Attend this meeting if you adopted your multiple children or used gestational carriers (surrogates) or donors. This group is relatively small, but growing every year. It’s a perfect opportunity for sharing your unique experience with moms who uniquely understand your life.

Single Moms 11 a.m.

Attend this meeting if you are a single mom raising your family. You will hear from your fellow single moms and can share your own unique experience. You should be ready to give and get solid parenting advice with moms who are wearing many hats.

First Timers 11 a.m.

First Convention? WELCOME! Attend this meeting and meet fellow first-timers, learn about the history ofPOMOMC, and gain some insight into what to expect at conventions.What happens at convention stays at convention.

Workshops/Speakers

Bottle Brush Painting 12:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m.

Ever wanted to try your hand at painting? Now is the time! Sign up for one of the newest LNO and get together with friends to create your own rendition on canvas. Canvas, brushes, paints, instruction, and soft drinks included in price of this 2 hour workshop. $35

Wine Making 1 p.m.- 2 p.m.

Learn to really enjoy the fruits of your labor from a science teacher who has taken his subject to a more enjoyable level.

Allergy Sensitive Food Preparation 1 p.m.- 2 p.m.

Gluten free? Gluten sensitive? Low glycemic? How about hypertension, diabetes, obesity and depression? You are what you eat has more meaning to us now than ever. And food that is ‘good for you’ doesn’t have to taste like cardboard. Promise! Be introduced to flours, sugars, and a new way of life for health.

College Preparation 2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

It’s never too early to start thinking, planning, crying. Learn some successful (and not-so-successful) tips for navigating these unchartered waters with your kids. Being naïve is too costly.

From Garden to Jar to Table 2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Always wanted to take advantage of summer farm market prices or the bounty from your own garden? This course will take the fear out of preserving fresh fruits and vegetables and make you the envy of the neighborhood. And bonus! you will have something in common with your spouse’s great grandmother who called it feeding her family.

From Out to In Control 2:15- 3:15

Jane, stop this crazy thing! Is this your life? Certified organizational speaker will share her proven methods for getting your time and your home under control. Ideas and changes are easy to incorporate into your daily life. Whether you use the info is your business…

Stepping out for the Night

Belly up to the Dance Floor and Showcase YOUR Style-Country? Rock? Hip Hop? 7:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

*Individuals or clubs can dress up as your favorite artist or band (no pressure to come up with a costume- it is YOUR weekend to enjoy- dress in PJ’s if you would rather)

*Participate in the line dance contest. Include your song title so that DJ Chase Brown will have your selection ready to go for your original line dance.

Contestants will be notified of performance time upon checking into the hotel

*Contest for closet resemblance to your favorite single artist(s), duet, or group

*Photo opportunities available in pre-reception area

*Wallflowers are welcome to enjoy the music from a distance

*Snacks will be available

Saturday, April 25

Day activities

Ways and Means: 7 a.m.-8 a.m.

Last chance to purchase twin and higher order multiple related items while supportingyour fellow clubs. Skeptics will still be able to get your bar and KISS dangle!

Tombola: 8 a.m.-9 a.m.

Feeling lucky? Last minute tickets can be purchased for baskets of your choice.

Breakfast: 7:15 a.m.- 8:45 a.m.

Enjoy a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, homefries, ham; or a pastry with juices, coffee, tea.

Saturday State Board Meeting 9 a.m. / lunch/ conclusion by 3 p.m.

All members should gather to be updated on POMOMC business. Announcements, scholarship pledges taken,Doris and Lonnie Whitcomb Scholarship recipients awarded, installation of officers and more business is conducted with tombola winners being called throughout the meeting. (Thank you, North Pittsburgh, for the generous offer to be winner ‘runners.’)

Saturday Luncheon 12–12:45 p.m.

Buffet stations include: Wedding and Potato soups; mixed green and broccoli salads; penne pasta with Alfredo and marinara sauces; rolls and butter; coffee, hot and iced tea. Dessert will be on the tables.

Artist at Work

Chalk Artist Gary Means will awe us with another beautiful original work which will be raffled off at the end of the board meeting.

Saturday, April 25

Evening activities

Latitude 360 5:45 p.m. – 11:45 p.m. $15.00

Robinson Center adult entertainment and dining complex offers a variety of evening activitiesincluding: nightclub, restaurant, theater, comedy club, two 12-lane bowling alleys, sports bar, and video arcade with 66 games. Tickets for shows can be ordered on-line ahead of time. Check out their website to whet your appetite to the choices offered! Price is for transportation to and from location making us the DD for the night!

LIVE SHOW- Comtra Theatre Doors open @ 6:45 p.m. Show time 7:30 $15.00

Dinner on your own in any of 100+ restaurants in and around the Cranberry Twp. area or use your coupon and receive $5 off a dinner at the hotel’s Legend. The Comtra Theatre is just a few miles from the hotel on Rt. 19 (sorry, no transportation provided). Reservations will be made in advance for POMOMC members although extra seats may be available.If you have never attended a theatre in the round, it is something you should experience.

→ The hotel is offering a coupon of $1 off a sandwich and $5 off a dinner entrée at the Legends Restaurant for your dining pleasure.
