Position Summary:
The primary functions of this position are to pick-up and deliver local freight using any combination of vehicles(with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or greater),while providing good customer service in a professional, safe and efficient manner.
Tasks:
- Pick-up and delivery of local freight using a tractor trailer, flatbed truck, box truck, van or other company vehicle
- Assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles, trailers or containers as requested
- Assist in moving freight within yard or warehouse using appropriate equipment as requested
- Communicate with Dispatch for routes and changes to assigned routes
- Process paperwork related to freight
- Collect monies from customers with Cash On Delivery invoices
- Assist customers (over phone or face-to-face) regarding freight pick-up and delivery in a polite and professional manner
- Daily vehicle inspections
- Consistently follow all safety procedures
- Minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning
- Warehouse cleanup
- Assist coworkers and other departments as requested
- Follow all Department of Transportation regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Special Certifications/Licenses:
- Valid Class A CDL

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma (or equivalent) required
- Minimum six months driving Class A vehicles required
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position
Supervision/Management:
- Position is not Supervisory in nature
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move up to 200 pounds utilizing proper moving equipment
- Ability to independently move up to 70 pounds
- Ability to use proper lifting techniques when needed
- Ability to do repetitive motions which may include fingering, grasping, reaching, bending and/or feeling
