VII.Old Business

  1. Scott discussed new efforts towards enrollment management.
  2. SLOs are important for accreditation. The division must begin to complete these.
  3. Victor discussed policy and procedures for travel requests. Faculty are first to seek authorization through a conference/travel request before signing up and committing to conferences. If faculty cancel a trip or find other sources of funding, Victor must be notified to cancel the trip/conference. Once the faculty member returns, they are to immediately submit their travel expense claims.

  1. Summer textbook requisitions were handed out. They are to be returned to the division office by March 26, 2008.
  2. MSC (Feldman/Donayan) to table 2nd Reading: Culinary Arts 118.
  3. MSC (Papaioanu/Feldman) 1st Reading: ARCH 150 - Rhino for Architectural and Digital Fabrication (proposed new course).
  4. MSC (Papaioanu/Ohanis) Course Revision: HRM 203 (substantive revision).
  5. MSC (Feldman/Papaioanu) 1st Reading: Culinary Arts 150 - Healthy Cuisine for Kids (proposed new course).
  6. MSC (Papaioanu/Manzano-Larsen) 1st Reading: HRM 205 – Event Planning & Meeting Management (proposed new course).
  7. MSC (Feldman/Ohanis) Course Revision: HRM 214 – Beverage & Bar Operations (revision).
  8. MSC (Feldman/Manzano-Larsen) 1st Reading: HRM 120 – Introduction to Travel & Tourism (proposed new course).
  9. MSC (Feldman/Manzano-Larsen) 1st Reading: HRM 218 – Menu Planning & Design (proposed new course).
  10. MSC (Feldman/Manzano-Larsen) Election of Nick Papaioanu as division representative to Academic Senate.
  11. Lydia Basmajian discussed the GCC Tech Expo.
  12. MSC (Feldman/Papaioanu) to add discipline of ENGR into division list of disciplines.

IX.Announcements/Information

  1. It was announced that the 2008 Tech Ed conference is scheduled for April 13 – 16, 2008 in Ontario at the Ontario Convention Center. Free registration for Glendale College employees.
  2. Congratulation was given to Sona Donayan for completing the Los Angeles Marathon in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
