TheselectioncommitteeforBASIC Scholarship Awards considers many factors in choosing award recipients. Your personal story isespecially important to us. We ask you to write an autobiographical essay of no more that 500 words in which youdescribe:
- your goals and who you are as a person
- As you tell us about your plans and yourself in this essay, remember to give us specific examples about how you have developed as a person and a student
- If you have faced challenges, tell us how you overcame those challenges, and what school and other life experiences helped you achieve personal growth and success
- We want to know how you have been involved with this community---who and what are important to you
- We are eager to learn how those life experiences and lessons have shaped your immediate and long-range plans, and what those plans are
