CHAPTER 1
Accessing the e-CImpact website
Investment Volunteers will use e-C Impact, an online grant management software tool designed specifically for United Way’s investment process. Through the site, volunteers can:
- View andprint funding applications and financial information for programs and organizations to which they are assigned;
- Complete and submit the Evaluation forms for each program to which they are assigned;
- Manage their personal profile information, including any and all conflicts of interest that may exist; and
- Access a Resource Center forsupporting documents and reference materials to assist them with evaluation.
Access the volunteer website by entering the URL below into your internet browser. A good practice is to bookmark thisURL in your web browser Favorites menu for easy return access, as the URL must be exactly as seen to navigate properly. Additionally, a link to the Volunteer Site login page is always accessible from the home page of UWCE’s website, unitedwaymuscatine.org. Look for the e-C Impact logo at the bottom of the home page to be directed to the proper link within our site.
If you get a screen that asks for the organization code, please check to see that the URL has /?org=17425U written at the end ( as seen below)
NEWVolunteer Registration
Volunteers that do not have a login can register from the login screen; click “Create an e-CImpact account” (as seen above). Enterthe profile information requested (as seen below) and be sure to identify any conflict of interest that applies (note: during registration you can only identify one conflict from the drop down list of organizations; however, once registration is approved, you may add other conflicts, as needed). Please be aware that identifying a conflict does not necessarily exclude you from participation in the volunteer evaluation process, altogether, rather it will assist your UWM staff liaison in ensuring that you are not assigned to any programs for which a conflict with the managing organization (agency) exists, so please be thorough in your assessment of conflicts. When your registration is approved you will be notified via e-mail and instructed to access the site to update additional profile information, conflict(s) of interest, etc. Log in to the site at the same URL noted on page 4 of this guide and use the login and password you created for yourself during the registration process.
Navigation Menus
Once you have accessed the volunteer site, you will begin on your personalized home page (as seen below), and will use the various navigation menus on the left to access differentsections of the site. Within each section, underlined titles indicate a link to a specific area. Click any underlined link to view/update information therein.
Home: takes you back to the home page (as seen above)which,in addition to the navigation menus to the left, displays an interactive Calendar of Events and any current news items or announcements UWCE wishes to share.
My Account: enter and update personal contact information here.
Demographics:general demographic information.
Supervisor: if applicable, you may provide contact information for your supervisor and can indicate your preference for United Way to send a note of thanks for their support of your volunteer service.
Conflicts of Interest: identify any and all conflicts with organizations (agencies) for whom United Way provides program funding.This will help your United Way staff liaison to ensure that you are not assigned to review any program for which a conflict exists or may be perceived to exist. United Way defines conflict as any interest in a transaction or decision where one’s business or other affiliations, family, employer, or close associates will receive a benefit or gain.
Click “Add New Conflict of Interest” and choose the name of the organization from the drop-down list provided, or write-in the name of an organization and describe the nature of the conflict (i.e., employee, spouse of employee, Board Member, etc.)
