"No Excuses!"
Luke 14: 16-24
INTRO.Jesus has just related a parable to the unbelieving Pharisees about a
man that made a great supper. The man sent out his servant at
supper time to bid men to his supper that was now ready. But
according to v18 they all began to make excuse. It seems this is the
way with man. We always have an excuse.
One told the servant that he couldn't come because he had bought a piece of ground and must go see it. Imagine buying something without viewing it first! The second said he couldn't come because he had just bought 5 yoke of oxen and needed to go prove them. And the last told the servant that he had married a wife so he couldn't come.
When the servant came back to the lord he was very angry and bid his servant to go out and compel them to come in that his house might be filled. The excuses of the people had angered the lord deeply. I believe our Lord is upset with man, when we make excuses to Him. To God there are no excuses, only reasons!
God can see our heart and He knows our true intentions. We might fool man, but God is not fooled. In fact, in Galatians 6:7, God says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” We can't tell God one thing and do another. God doesn't want our excuses, just our obedience!

CLOSING:God loves mankind and desires their love in return; He doesn't
want excuses just obedience.
Besides, most times our excuses don't make sense anyway. For example, consider this:
WHY FIRE TRUCKS ARE RED
Well, fire trucks have four wheels and eight men, and eight and four are 12. There are 12 inches in a foot and a foot is a ruler. Queen Elizabeth was a ruler, and the Queen Elizabeth is the largest ship on the Seven Seas. Seas have fish. Fish have fins. The Finns fought the Russians. The Russians are red. Fire trucks are always rushing. Therefore, fire trucks are always red.
If this sounds wild, you should listen to some people explain why they are not obeying God.
Lost person, if you are using some excuses for not accepting God, why not give up that excuse and give Him your live today!
Christian, are you making excuses for not serving Him as you
should! God wants you to serve Him out of your Love for HIM.
