  • Parents, the grading period ends in a week on October 30th – Please contact your child’s teachers if you have questions regarding their grades.

  • Picture day has been moved to Monday, October 30th.
  • Our last football game of the regular season will be on this Wednesday at 6:00 in the Pinecrest High School stadium – we will be on the visiting side. Please come and support our students and coaches.
  • This is Red Ribbon week – students and teachers may dress in the following:

Monday – wear red: be red-y for a future that is drug free

Tuesday – wear a cap: to put a cap on drugs for your future (hoodies do not count)

Wednesday – Dragon pride day – wear green and gold

Thursday – tacky day: stand out and be drug free

Friday – College day: start thinking today!

  • SMS will have Beta Club induction on Thursday, November 2nd at 6:00.
  • Attention all young authors: The theme for 2017-18 Young Author’s Project is “Show Your Strength.” Young Authors are encouraged to write about their personal experiences with perseverance; how they have overcome obstacles; how they have found strength in a time of weakness; and/or what inspired them to rise above a particular challenge. Authors may write prose or poetry, fiction or non-fiction. All entries must have a signed permission slip – students should ask their ELA teacher or get a permission slip in the office or the library. All entries are due no later than Friday, 10/27 to Mrs. Matthews on the 6th grade hall.

Thursday, October 26th:

  • Tacky Day – Stand out and pledge to be drug free!

Friday, October 27th:

  • College Day – start thinking today!
