Reading Journal Requirements
Purpose: Your reading journal will serve as a place for you to talk about books, reading, authors, and writing. Each week you will write a letter to me about your reading.
Requirements:
·  Letters should be at least 5 sentences long
·  Include the date on the first blank line on the right side of the paper.
·  Include a greeting and closing, as you would in a friendly letter
·  Create your own title for the portion you read!
·  Choose at least two prompts from below.
Be descriptive and specific. You may write about anything you find interesting in your book. Tell what you felt when you read the book and why. Tell what you noticed about how the author wrote. Tell why you think he or she wrote this way. Tell what it reminded you of – other books or experiences from your like.
DO NOT: Give a plot summary unless you are asked to.
Grading: Responses that are thoughtful and meet the length requirements will receive full credit. / Reading Journal Requirements
