I T E M S R E Q U I R E DGENERAL
The City of Seattle will require approximately 1000 recapped truck tires annually. Sizes 8R19.5, 9R.22.5, 225-70R19.5, 255-70R22.5, 11 R22.5, 315-80R22.5. 14-16PR traction and highway tread comprise approximately 90% of the class 6-8 truck tires utilized. Evaluation for truck tires will be based on these sizes.
The successful bidder will be required to pick up and deliver tires at Solid Waste Utility, 8100 Second Ave South; and at the City of Seattle Tire Shop, 8th South and Charles Street. Contractor shall provide next day service for new orders. Delivery hours are 8:00 AM to 3:00PM weekdays.
If an order is not complete or if the delivery is late, a phone call to the Tire Shop Supervisor (206) 386-1162 explaining detail is required. Contractor to pick up carcasses when notified and return repaired or recapped units to point of pickup within 7 working days.

2. All carcasses accepted for retread shall be protected by warranty.
3. State conditions of warranty.
100% of all workmanship & materials. If failure occurs due to workmanship & materials, Phelps Tire will replace cap and casing at 100% rate.

PROCESS
1. Describe curing process; state time, temperature, pressure, mold type and other pertinent details.
2. Contractor shall replace any brand numbers on a tire carcass if the original brand is destroyed or covered during repair process.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
1. Vendor will remove all casings size 8R1 9.5 through 425-65R22.5 and write itemized work orders for all casings removed including recap-able, credit, and unusable tires.
2. The vendor will dispose of all unusable casings at no charge to the City of Seattle.
3. The vendor will only recap sizes requested by the tire shop.
4. Credits for the cap-able casings shall show casing credit amounts. Vendor will reconcile all work orders monthly.
5. This contract is expandable should the City find need for further sizes and services.

Supplier is required to provide label with number ID and numbered claim tag for each casing picked up for recap.
The City may elect to purchase retreaded tires manufactured with casings obtained from other sources. Such retreaded tires purchased shall be made with casings comparable in quality to those provided by the City, in terms of brand, material, wear and mileage. Attach a list and pricing schedule for size and type of retreaded tires available.

WARRANTY
1. Inspection of bidder's facility may be required.
2. A performance demonstration may be required.
3. Warranty service work must be performed by seller and seller must accept responsibility for transportation.
4. State warranty for carcass, cap and mileage.
Warranty is same, workmanship & materials, if a tire fails due to workmanship & materials, Phelps Tire will replace cap & casing free of charge at a 100% adjustment.
