Show your understanding of the NERVOUS SYSTEM:
- Chose an everyday action and create a poster that illustrates the path of the nerve impulses the action involves.
- Using “Inspiration” software, make concept maps of the divisions of the nervous system that identify parts of the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
- Illustrate and explain how each of the senses sends information to the brain when a person eats a sandwich.

1Summarize the digestive processes that occur in the small and large intestines in a series of drawings and captions as a poster or a booklet.
Show your understanding of the CIRCULATORY SYSTEM:
- Explain the role of the heart in the circulatory system. Do this on a poster, in a power point, or in a brochure.
- Create illustrated charts that describe the four components of blood and the roles of each.
- In a poster, show your understanding of blood vessels by diagramming the movement of blood through arteries, capillaries, vein, and the heart.
Show your understanding of the RESPIRATORY SYSTEM:
- Write a short story describing the adventures of an oxygen molecule during respiration. Include illustrations.
Show your understanding of the MUSCULAR SYSTEM:
- Create compare/contrast stables of the three types of muscle tissue. Make sure to include phrases that describe the actions of each type of muscle tissue.
Show your understanding of the INTEGUMENTARY SYSTEM:
- Explain the importance of at least three functions of the skin and how they are accomplished. Include labeled drawings and explanations.
Show your understanding of the IMMUNE SYSTEM:
- Imagine you are a kind of pathogen. In a poster, brochure, or power point describe yourself and tell how you infected a human.
- Prepare a brochure or booklet for children on ways to prevent infectious disease. Include illustrations and explanations.
- Create concept maps in “INSPIRATION” software titled Noninfectious Diseases. Be sure to include symptoms, treatments, and preventive measures for each disease.
Show your understanding of WELLNESS:
- Show your understanding of cancer and the environment by Identifying two environmental carcinogens and explain how they affect the body. Show your information on a poster, brochure or power point. Include illustrations.
- Show your understanding of alcohol and other drugs by choosing one type of drug described in your book, and create an informational display poster about its short-term and long-term effects on the body.
- Make a poster describing the three components of wellness, including pictures and examples of ways to improve health in each area.
- Choose atherosclerosis or hypertension and make a poster or brochure explaining how the condition is caused, how it affects the body, and ways it can be prevented and treated.
- Show your understanding of smoking and health by making a brochure to convince you friends not to smoke.
