GEARING UP FOR SPROUTS
Here at Broadreach, we love all weather! To enjoy playing outdoors in all weather, we need to wear the right clothing. Please note that we are unable to keep your child at the center if they come unprepared for the weather. We hope that the following information will help to guide you in preparing your child for their daily adventures. If you have any questions, please be sure to ask your child's teacher. The best gear is the gear that a child can put on and will keep on! If your child won't leave it on, they're not staying warm or dry!
Best fabric choices for wet or cold weather
The best fabrics to dress your child in are wool, silk and fleece. Cotton will get wet, and when it gets wet, it keeps you cold! The best idea for cold, wet weather is to wear clothing that is waterproof or water-resistant over a layer of wool, silk or fleece. In warm weather, cotton shirts and long pants are OK!
Getting Dirty
Your child is going to get dirty at Sprouts! Please do not send your child wearing clothing that you don't want to get wet or dirty. You are more than welcome to use our restrooms to change your child at the end of the day if you wish. We ask that each parent provide a full change of seasonally-appropriate clothing (including socks and underwear!) to be kept in their child's cubby. If we send clothing home, please remember to send replacements. Please label ALL of your child's clothing with a permanent marker or iron-on labels (such as those found at namebubbles.com or oliverslabels.com).
