October 2017Students of the Month

Madelyn Alibrandi

Maddy has had many obstacles to overcome since she moved into our school last spring. Ninth grade has many challenges that she will face but she has already proved that she is a hard-worker and dedicated to learning and growing. Despite the obstacles in her way, Maddy perseveres and puts in 100% effort every day, even when she has looked like she wants to give up. We appreciate her hard work and are looking forward to continuing to support her in her academics.

Zachary Sweeney

During a bus ride home, another student became very argumentative and rude. I (bus driver – Mrs. Cerullo) was considering returning the bus to school. Zach came forward from the back of the bus and sat down with the student and sternly but quietly told him to stop behaving badly and follow the bus driver’s directions. He showed such leadership qualities and had a profound effect on the difficult student. I know it has been made very clear to the athletes they need to represent their team and he was a perfect example today. Zach’s stepping up and doing the right thing really made a difference in my day.
