Procedure / Phase / Timing
Before class begins draw a score board for the PPT Jeopardy game on the chalk/white board.
Important Note:
This game lesson should be done with a South Korean class. The subject of the game is South Korean culture and USA culture. The teacher does not need to be American to play this game with a South Korean class.
Ask the students about their culture and ask them what they like about their culture. If you do not know what Kimchee is, you will soon find out now. Ask the class what they know (or saw in movies) from the USA mainstream culture. Do not be dismayed when students recant information from popular movies as if it was a journalism feature documentary to be believed in entirety.
Group the students seated together into two to three groups depending on the size of the class.
  1. Upon opening the file “S Korean and USA Culture PPT Game - Part 2 – PPT Game File” in MS Power Point view the file in slideshow mode to play the game.
  2. Have student teams take turns select a question from the yellow points squares below the topics. (Hint: greater points are more difficult questions) Click directly on the number for the number to change color from yellow to black to denote it has already been selected.
  3. Retrieve the answer by clicking the pointer anywhere on the question screen.
  4. To return to the main game page click the pointer on the small icon of the home on the bottom right hand corner of the answer page.
At the end of class talk with students about what they like about their culture and what they saw in the game that might be new to them. / Engage
