2015 State FFA Convention

Cost

$60.00 due by March 27th

  • You will need to bring $ for lunch on Friday at Raising Cane’s ~$10
  • Price includes registration, concert ticket, hotel, and 3 meals
  • FFA cash can only be used for the $60.00 portion.

Schedule

Students will be leaving from the school at 11:30am on Thursday, April 30th after eating lunch and returning on Friday, May 1st at approximately 9-10pm.

Chaperones

Chaperones are welcome to join us for any of the sessions. They may ride the bus or join us at the state fairgrounds. The registration cost for an adult is $5. The cost of parking at the state fairgrounds is $5.

Attire

All students will need to have official dress to wear. They must have it on when they board the bus at school at 11:30am or the student will not attend and there will be no reimbursement. Reminder: It is official FFA jacket, tie or scarf, black dress pants or skirt, white button up shirt with collar, black hose or socks and black dress shoes. Those who do not have a jacket should make necessary arrangements.

No complete official dress= not attending!

Rules

All school rules apply, if a serious infraction occurs, Mr. Cunningham will be notified and your parent will be called to come pick you up immediately. Please remember that you are representing Elgin High School and the Elgin FFA Chapter, you need to be on your best behavior.

State Degrees

To be eligible for a state degree, a member MUST have attended 2 activities from this list:

FFA Camp, Leadership Night, District Officer Training, State Convention, National Convention

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To attend the Ohio FFA State Convention you must meet all requirements listed below:

1. Be a registered FFA member by having paid the $30.00 FFA dues for 2014-2015.

2. Be enrolled in least one Agricultural Science course during the current school year.

3. Be a full time Elgin High Student and eligible according to the EHS eligibility list.

4. Be in full compliance with all Official FFA Codes of Ethics and Conduct.

5. Have a school cumulative GPA of 2.0 with no F grades from the most recent grading period.

6. Received a passing grade in all Agricultural Science courses taken.

7. Obtain and wear Official FFA Dress throughout the convention.

8. Have parental or guardian permission with a signed release form.

9. Have satisfactory school attendance.

10. Have received the Greenhand Degree.

I understand that by applying to attend the Ohio FFA State Convention does not guarantee that I will be allowed to go. By completing the required paperwork I agree that I have met all the above requirements. Payments will be reimbursed if the student is not approved to attend.
